Religious Education

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION REGISTRATION: Families that were registered in the 2009/2010 program will have the opportunity to pre-register for the 2010/2011 program. A pre-registration form was mailed last month. Registrations may be mailed back, or brought to the RE office or church office during business hours. Classes do fill up quickly and are on a first come/first served basis. No registrations will be taken after September 13th.

OPEN REGISTRATION FOR RELIGIOUS EDUCATION will be held August 22nd at the Parish Fair. If you would like to register prior to that, please contact Betty as listed above. Classes begin the week of September 26.

The SACRAMENT OF FIRST RECONCILIATION and FIRST EUCHARIST are celebrated in the second grade. CONFIRMATION is celebrated in the eighth grade. Both require consistent attendance throughout the year. Our policy at All Souls requires that the student must have also consistently attended classes the previous year (i.e., grades one and seven).

CLASS SCHEDULE FOR RELIGIOUS EDUCATION

PRESCHOOL: Ages 3 & 4 (by 9/15/2010), Sundays, 9:00-10:00 A.M.

KINDERGARTEN: Age 5 (by 9/15/2010), Sundays, 9:00-10:00 A.M.

GRADES 1-5: Tuesdays, 4:15-5:15 P.M. or Sundays, 10:15-11:15 A.M.

GRADES 6-8: Tuesdays, 7:00-8:30 P.M.

HELP NEEDED! Religious Education Catechists (teachers) are needed for the 2010/2011 program. Catechists are needed for Sun-day morning preschool, Tuesday afternoons and Tuesday evenings. This is a very important and rewarding ministry as our children are the future of the Church. We all need to do our part to help them learn more about our loving God and to grow in their faith. If you love Christ and His Church and believe what the Catholic Church teaches, you are qualified. Training and lots of help are pro-vided. Please contact Betty by August 15. If you cannot help at this time, we ask for your prayers.

HIGH SCHOOL CONFIRMATION or ADULT CONFIRMATION: Registrations are now being taken for any student or adult need-ing to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. Classes begin the 1st of October. Contact Betty for full details. BIBLE STUDIES are being formed. The Women’s Bible Study will meet on Wednesday mornings at 9:00 A.M. beginning Septem-ber 15.
